Particulars:

  • Two University Level Scholarships for the academic year beginning September 2003

  • The courses of Study  may be at either Undergraduate or Postgraduate level.

  • Two years at the Postgraduate level and for three years at Undergraduate level.

  • A person who is already pursuing a course of study at University may also apply.

  • Applicants must be financial members of the OWTU or their children

  • Must satisfy the entry requirements of the University at which the course of study is proposed and have attained the age of 18 years but be under 60.

  • The Scholarships are tenable at the UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES or if the course of study is not available at UWI then at any other recognised University.

  • Applicants will be expected, through interviews/evaluation to demonstrate commitment to the philosophy of the Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union and to principles of the labour movement.

  • Scholarship Award winners are expected, but not obligated to work for a period of two years after the completion of their course of study in Trinidad and Tobago or in another Caribbean territory.

  • Scholarship Award winners will be known as OWTU Scholars.
